Frequently Asked Questions

What types of films do you accept?

Cinema speaks many dialects and we are fans of every accent. If your film is strong, it will be a contender. Be it a narrative, animation, documentary, or screendance. The best films will be curated for each series.

Do I need rights to everything in my film?

When submitting your film to film festivals, you need to secure the rights to everything that you include on screen: actor release forms, music release forms, and releases for any stock media that you include. You will be asked to agree to a statement that says you have the necessary rights to screen your work publicly. You may be asked to present the documentation prior to being part of the official selection.

What are the prizes?

Each film accepted as official selection will receive a digital media package that will include a review/critique of you film along with film festival laurels to include in your marketing of the film. After the run of the show, a swag bag with a certificate of your placement in either the Winter or Summer Online Series and/or the Theatrical Screening, a CineManiacs Short Film Festival T-shirt, and other film related goodies. A separate Best Picture certificate will be given to the best picture. The Audience Choice Award will accompany a check for $250.

Who are your adjudicators?

Members of the CineManiacs Short Film Festival committee are active in the world of independent filmmaking and hail from a multitude of specialties within the craft including producers, actors, acting coaches, screen writers, editors, choreographers, and directors. Names will be announced as they are confirmed, but the founders of CineManiacs Short Film Fest, Gregory R.R. Crosby and Artur Lago-V, will be a part of the judging panel.

How do I submit?

Simply submit though FilmFreeway by clicking the link at the top of the page. You will need a digital screener and three 300dpi images associated with your film. CineManiacs Short Film Festival does not accept DVDs or other physical media. Upon acceptance, a higher resolution file of your film will be requested which you can deliver via file transfer services.
